Late Night Pasta in Soho

Fresh pasta, Italian cocktails, and a kitchen that's still going when most of Soho has closed

Most kitchens in Soho stop taking orders by 10pm. 27 Old Compton Street is an Italian pasta bar on Old Compton Street that serves fresh handmade pasta until 1am on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays - until midnight on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and until 11pm on Mondays and Sundays.

Whether you're coming out of a show in the West End, finishing a night out, or you've just decided at 11pm that you want an authentic plate of italian pasta, we're here for it.

Fresh Pasta, Made to Order

The menu has twelve handmade pasta dishes, risottos, small plates, and desserts - all cooked to order. Whether you're after a bowl of Bucatini Cacio e Pepe or something richer like the Black Squid Ink Lobster Ravioli, the full menu is available until the kitchen closes. There's no reduced late night offering here - the same dishes being served at lunchtime are coming out of the kitchen at midnight.

If you're a truffle fan, fresh truffles can be added to almost any dish on the menu. The kitchen also does small plates and antipasti if you're after something lighter to share over drinks.

Italian Wines and Cocktails

The drinks menu is built around Italian wines by the glass and bottle, and a cocktail list with an Italian twist. If you're not sure what to pair with your pasta, the team can help. There are non-alcoholic options on the list too, so whether you're winding down after a long night or starting one, there's something for everyone at the table.

Two Floors to Choose From

Upstairs has an open kitchen and tables looking out onto Old Compton Street, which is still full of life well past midnight on a weekend. On warmer nights, there's outside seating too.

Downstairs is a different feel - low lighting, booth seating, and tucked-away alcoves that work well for groups. If you're heading out with friends and want somewhere with a bit more atmosphere for a late night meal, downstairs is the one to go for.

After the Theatre

Old Compton Street is surrounded by West End theatres, and most shows finish around 10pm. If you're looking for somewhere to eat after a show, we're a few minutes' walk from the Prince Edward Theatre, the Palace Theatre, and the Sondheim Theatre. By the time you've left the theatre and walked over, the kitchen is still in full swing. Most restaurants nearby will have stopped serving by then, but we'll have a table and a full menu waiting.

Walk In or Book Ahead

You can book a table upstairs if you want to plan ahead, and downstairs is walk-in only for anyone making a last-minute call. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights get busy, so if you know you're coming, reserving is a good idea. If you're heading over without a booking, downstairs is your best bet - grab a booth and order straight from the menu.
